Meet Our Staff
Pastoral Team Leader Blaine Lougheed
Pastor Blaine and his wife Cindy moved here with their family in August of 2001 to assume the role of Senior Pastor. Both he and Cindy were born and raised in Owen Sound, Ontario and were fortunate to have Christian parents and a strong church family at the Owen Sound Christian and Missionary Alliance Church.
Pastor Blaine has previously served as a pastor with the Evangelical Missionary Church of Canada for a period of thirteen years, ministering in Eau Claire (northern Ontario), Kitchener (southern Ontario) and Markham (suburb of Toronto). He graduated from Tyndale College and Seminary in Toronto with both a bachelor’s and master’s degree in theology, pursued further studies at the University of Toronto [Toronto School of Theology] and is currently involved in PhD. studies with Trinity College in association with the University of Canterbury. Pastor Blaine is a Pastoral Team Leader and believes ministry to be best characterized as a team effort rather than through hierarchical structure. This vision is reflected in the roles that each of the pastoral team assumes and the lack of traditional designations that serve meaningless purposes beyond that of hierarchical definition.
Pastor Blaine and Cindy have four adult children and two daughters in-law. Each are involved in their own ways as active members of Hollowell Church. Pastor Blaine’s hobbies include most sports, sports card and memorabilia collecting, and tormenting his children and the pastoral team through jokes and pranks.
Pastor of Congregational Life Jacob Harrison
Pastor Jacob and his wife Jamie came to Hollowell in August of 2012. Jacob is from Chambersburg, Pennsylvania and Jamie from McConnellsburg, so their meeting was a chance one at Starbucks one afternoon while Jacob was working.
Prior to coming to Hollowell, Pastor Jacob studied Pastoral Ministry at Valley Forge Christian College in Phoenixville, Pennsylvania and graduated with a B.A. in 2006. Upon graduation, he served as Assistant Pastor at churches in Fayetteville and Shippensburg, both in Pennsylvania. He is currently in pursuit of his Master of Divinity, studying at Evangelical Theological Seminary in Myerstown, Pennsylvania.
Pastor Jacob is passionate about following Jesus and helping others to do the same. He believes that people can know and experience Jesus for themselves and that through meeting Him their lives change dramatically. He also believes that all Christians are called to serve in some capacity and that God has given them gifts which enable them to serve. Therefore, Pastor Jacob seeks to help people develop in their areas of giftedness and find areas where they can serve. Pastor Jacob’s interests include outdoor sports, drinking coffee, and playing his guitar.
Pastor Jacob and his wife Jamie have been married since February of 2013. Their first child, Elijah, was born in August of 2015.
Pastor of Children's Ministries Jenny Snyder
Jenny Snyder graduated from Bridgewater University in 2003 with a Bachelor of Science degree. She spent the next few years working for the Washington County Health Department as a health inspector and public health emergency planner. In 2005, she married the love of her life, Tyler Snyder, and together they have two sons and a daughter. This arrangement also netted Tyler a crazy white dog whom he grudgingly accepts as part of the family. Jenny has always felt a strong call to care for the people around her and was excited when God opened up the doors for her to coordinate the children’s ministry at Hollowell, beginning in July of 2014. Her desire to see the next generation grow up with a personal relationship with Jesus Christ as well as a Christian worldview, that they are able to articulate and defend, is the driving force behind all the children’s programs.
In her spare time she enjoys reading, gardening, and conducting science experiments in the kitchen (which the Snyders sometimes call dinner).
Matt and Carrie began attending Hollowell in 2013. Matt attended Shepherd University and received a Bachelor of Science and has been a Recreation Therapist with Western Maryland Hospital Center. Carrie attended Houghton College and received a Bachelor’s of Arts degree in Psychology with minors in Family Studies and Missions. She is also a teacher with Growing Tree Preschool, Waynesboro Waves Swim Coach, Lifeguard, and Swim Instructor. They both attended Fairview Avenue BIC as children, but it was not until they reached college age that they started to notice each other from across the aisle.
After they got married in 2001, Matt became the youth and young adults pastor at Paramount BIC before finishing his Recreation degree. The Thompson’s have three boys Grant, Owen, and Liam. They live in Waynesboro. The Thompsons are an active family who you can usually find at local parks playing, swimming, biking, hiking, and kayaking.
One of the Thompson’s goals is to help church members feel connected with one another and serving together. They want to create opportunities for others to build relationships that encourage each other in with their relationship with God.
